One of Sonic Explorer's major components is no longer supported by its creators, we discovered today. This means that most of the remaining issues/bugs can't be fixed. We don't have the time or the money to make a new component ourselves. That's why ProXL will stop developing Sonic Explorer. And since SonicExplorer is our only active product, ProXL calls it a day too. Yes, we're quitting.Thanks for your support.

64 Bit support?

One of our users reports that you can use VstNotes with Cubase x64 on a 64 bits machine using JBridge. Can't try it myself, no 64 bit machines in da house. But it's worth a try if you run into 64 bit issues. Thanks Stefan!

VstNotesXL and ProbaGate are now FREEWARE

You can now download VstNotesXL and ProbaGate from the product pages for free. Commercial products require good support. It has become simply too difficult for me to keep up with all Operating System changes, 64 bit support, support questions etc. So have fun with these free plugins!

- Better compatibility with Win7 / Vista
- Improved copy/paste behaviour
- Small bug fixes.

We just released version 1.2 of Sonic Explorer. Changes:

- FLAC, WMA, APE, OGG and AAC support.
- Better refresh of explorer list after file deletion
- minor bugfixes.

Sonic Explorer update 1.1

There's a new version of Sonic Explorer available. You can download the new version from the product page, or Click here .

Changes in version 1.1:

- Better response times. Most audio samples play almost instantly now.
- Added volume control
- Space bar stops current playing sound
- Up and Down arrow keys can now be used to select and play a file.
- Removed grid view, due to compatibility issues
- Configuration: added option to stop playing after a 2nd click on file name.
- Configuration: added option to make the graphic sample display work on slower machines.
- Better search behaviour
- Corrected some typos
- Some other minor bugfixes

SonicExplorer's current version is 1.0. Some small improvements, nothing else. Only betatesters should download the latest version (see link on the right). Current version requires Windows XP or better (and a soundcard of course).

The next ProXL product will be quite simple. It is a combination of a Windows Explorer and an audio previewer. Click and listen, with fast loading times. It displays a visual preview of the waveform of your audio files. Perfect for auditioning audio samples. First version loads wav, aif and mp3. Simple but effective "Add to Favorites" system.

Looking for VstNotes, VstNotesXL or Probagate VST plugins for your DAW?

Get these VST plugins from the links on the right of this page. The VST plugins are not developed any further, but still run fine on most Digital Audio Workstations. Tested in versions of Cubase, Ableton Live etc. Enjoy!

Just finished the new site, ProXL is now hosted by Blogger. A lot simpler than all those Yoomla/Mambo's. And cheaper too! Hope everything works well, changing DNS records is not very easy. At least not for a non-expert as myself ;-).
